Resources / Basic .xml usage for actors
« on: August 25, 2013, 08:04:49 PM »
Hey there, I'm wanting to get into this editor and build amazing stuff. I've done modding for other games in the past and have used a variety of tool sets. This is the first time I'll be drawing sprites and animating them though - so I'm just a bit lost. The XML sheets for each actor look very simple, but I'm just not fully aware of how these animations work.

Can someone provide one of the example XMLs and show what each part is for? Origin, frametime, and the numbers in the framtime tags? I know it has to be so simple I'm just not seeing it with my limited experience :(

If anyone could post a simple guide on this, I will be pumping out content as much as possible :)

*Also, if the sprites have to be drawn in a certain format, or if there are guidelines for having sprites work with this engine I would love any and all info on that as well!

THANKS!

I forwarded the port, I'm in IT and do this kind of thing for people all the time. I also opened my NAT to open, even tried static routes and DMZ separately. Unless my router is "forwarding" but "not forwarding" this is likely my ISP blocking the port. I wish the port number used for the game was customizable :(

Technical Support / Re: Hammerwatch Port Fowarding

I have forwarded the port on my router, and also disabled windows firewall. upnp is enabled on my router. NAT is set to Open.

Hammerwatch still won't let me host, and so I've even tried putting my computer on a DMZ, static route, disabled firewall, etc.

Research tells me that this is an issue with most ISPs blocking ports < ~1000, so I desperately need the ability to change the hosting port, or to at least have the default be in the 4000s :(

i only ever see one or two games, and they dont let me join except maybe 1 in a while. and I can't host on port 9995 because apparently most ISPs block ports <~1000ish.

Would like to start a petition to be able to change the port for hosted games :(

I have windows firewall turned off, and the port forwarded as well (9995). I still cant seem to get anyone to join my game.
