This is terrible :( I can't work on my assets without being able to test run :(

I've tried uninstalling from steam, ran ccleaner for registery and extra after that, and installed a fresh hammerwatch via steam.

Things I'd like to see for modability:

Customizable heroes/classes
Spells/abilities
Effects triggered by both abilities and scripts.


What kinds of things is everyone looking for?

Some of those things already exist, just to to a capacity that modders can use them. For example, the Mage does set things on fire with combustion, there is frost/slow effects, the warlock poisons, the paladins stun, etc.

What I think would be better would be to open up the modding to include heroes and their abilities on top of everything else. I think much braver and better projects will come along when that can happen :)

Mine is giving me 'failed to load level' when trying to run any game from editor. Even ones that worked previously like the Test level that comes with it? :*(

This is weird because it was working before, and now its not?

Thanks! Means a lot :D I'm having a blast pouring hours into making these things. I've got a few more almost polished, I hope to make a decent custom map soon to showcase some of these things. I'm particularly proud of one item that I can't wait to show off :D

Some of the things in the XMLs are self explaining, but others are a bit confusing. Has it ever been mentioned if this game is going to be open source? Would really help the modding out I think.

What is required for that to work? What are the minimum requirements for it to pack a .hwm? And on top of that, I have a .hwm that is not showing up in the game either :/ (But Greywatch, Doom 1.4, etc show up just fine)

I'm wondering, is there a list of all the available behaviors for actors?

From the XMLs I gather:

Behaviors:
Melee
Ranged
Caster
Bomb

Abilities:
Blink
Summon
Heal
Nova
Seeker

Are there any others? Or any explanations on how each of them work in the XMLs?

the corpse will spawn at the end of a death animation.

On mine, the corpse spawns at the beginning of the animation, and also at the end. So it looks almost like theres two corpses. The way I have it now though, I like it better I think - it plays an animation and shows the corpse for 5 seconds, then it blinks out. A bit like in the older TMNT games eh? :D

The towers, spawners, and bosses don't have a death animation though? The corpse.xml is just the one frame, and the actor doesn't have a death animation in their .xml?
