Hammerwatch Discussion / Re: My idea for a Level system

That idea does sound much better, however I like the game with the current upgrade system.  I would like to see that as a separate game mode though.

I'm sorry that I do not share the same opinion.  If exp was added to the game, people could easily stand around the corner from a spawner, and just mash the default attack button to level up, then do the whole campaign at max level.  Enemies like the plant things do give a reward of money, and that is used for upgrades, so i do see it as rewarding. (Although I do not recall that specific mob dropping money, many strong ones do.)

I do however love the idea of new classes.  I would like to see an axe wielder, fisticuffs fighter, and a rouge (not because its a rouge-like, simply because rouges and archers are all i really like to play as in any game.)

I like the majority of these ideas.  I personally wouldn't play it on my iPod, but that's simply because I'm not too big on iPod gaming.  However I love the time attack and vs modes.  It probably wouldn't be too fun to play by fighting each other, and would quite possibly be repetitive.  Something more along the lines of a competitive score attack , more than an actual "fight the other players".

Hammerwatch Discussion / Re: Stick shooter capabilities?

I feel that with strafe its already similar, although it would be nice if it had something like spiral knights and added extra keys bindings for face north/facesouth/faceeast/facewest so if you wanted to twin stick you could but didnt have to.(as you could set the face keys to the same keys as your movement.

You worded it so much better than me.  That's pretty much what I was looking for.  I don't want it to be a twin stick shooter by force, but by choice.  I'm fine with having to move to face a direction, and to press (Up or A) to shoot.  I just want a simpler control, by choice.

hammer watch is not a twin-stick shooter.

you wouldn't put fighting game controls on a racing game so why put twin stick shooting on and old school rpg?

I understand it is a rogue-like, but there is nothing wrong with changing up controls.  I just thought it would make it fun, not thinking it's necessary

I love playing as the ranger, as many others do, and i really with it would be a twin stick shooter.  Of course only as an option you can turn on and off, and it would be cool on other characters too.  I'm not a mod creator, so I don't know if it is possible, but if it could be added to the game either through mods, or by the game's creators, that would be amazing.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know, it would make the game much more fun!  :D

Hammerwatch Discussion / Re: Join in play for Multi.

Is there a way for people to join in local?  Sometimes a buddy and I are cruising along and a third guy shows up.  If another player joins, would he start off with as much cash as we have accumulated so far?  (so as to not be so far behind)

You can set it to private, and give whoever you want to join you your computer's IP, and they can connect through that.  I don't know if a new player would have the same amount of money, and I doubt it.  Money is added for all players immeatly when it is grabbed, so it's unlikely the new member will have the same amount of money as you.
