Hello HammerWatch Community.

As you all might noticed I have stopped this project many months ago  :'(
I am very sad about that but I have had no time for this. I was and I am currently extremly busy because of my education and my diploma project.
I worked for about 5 minutes of playtime more than 1 hour (probably even more) and that made me some kind of tired from work too. It was simply
too much for me :( also my friends and I stopped playing HammerWatch and I focused more and more on my other hobbys (Blender 3D-modelling).

I could make all the files available (free download) but the main floor is very confusing if you haven't worked
on it for hours and it is currently unplayable too because there are some level overarching areas where you need keys
from other (not existent) floors. (If anybody wants those files, massage me on this forum)

Only a few. I can't draw as good as I could make completely new mobs, but there are some customized (original) mobs.
The only new mobs are from this forum.

Hello HammerWatch Community.

I'm working on a large HammerWatch Campaign called "H.W. Retribution".

The final version of the Campaign is going to contain:

it's own Story
some custom sounds
maybe sync. dialoges
4-6 main floors
hopefully custom bosses
(atm. I don't know how to make good bosses)
about 5-8 riddles
many secrets
4 easter eggs
etc. ...


But this needs a LOT TIME !!! Currently I have worked for this map about 85 hours (in 2 1/2 weeks).
For now only 1 1/2 floors are finished because I'm a large perfectionist and I can create only nearly
perfect things, I work on everything very long and I try to make everything as good as possible.

THIS MAP IS GOING TO BE TOTALLY FREE
This map is a one man project and it takes a crazy amount of time for me to make this.
If it's no problem for the devs, I will add a donation button to this side.
This only means: if you like the map and you want to support me you could donate a little bit.



Work in Progress:
(latest update: 14:30 Sept 23, 2013)

~11.000 Total Objects.
Main Story is written.
First 2 Floors are in the making (only important for Story)
Floor 3 (1. Main foor): 10%
Floor 4 (2. Main floor): 95%
Floor 5 (Floor 4 exp.): 100%
More Floors are in them making.
Many custom doodads.


I will release an beta version of this Map until Floor 1 - Floor 6 (inc.: 2-3 main floors and first part of the story) are finished.
This will take me about another 70 hours (+-20) to finish. Please have some patience.

Sadly there is no possibility to create custom classes at the moment. (If you don't change the source code of the game)

Hello HammerWatch Community!

Simple story: more playable classes = more fun!
I thought a lot about new classes and I can't get 2 of my ideas out of my mind so I decided to show/explain you these 2 classes.
Sadly I'm not a good programmer and I haven't any idea how to make this classes but I know much things around the programming.
I really like to hear your impressions and ideas!

The "programming" behind custom Characters (Monsters) isn't a big problem, but the skins need a lot of time ( ~ 45 skins for a good animation).
You have to declare all the animation - texture - coordinates [start: x/y] & [+x/+y] of the image file and the texture times. (in the .xml file of the Character)
The real programming behind the Characters are the "behaviors" (melee, ranged, spawner, caster...) but I have currently no idea how to make a "behavior" :/
I hope my English is understandable.

Resources / Color Gradient Doodads Pack

              Hello HW Community :)


I always wanted to hide new level sections (to increase the curiosity of the player)

But I haven't found good possibilities for that.

For that reason I made a big doodads pack of foreground's and transparent color gradient doodads.

                      INSTALLATION

                     Extremely easy!
                     1. unrar the file.
             2. move the CG-Pack folder
             into your "doodads" folder
                             DONE

This are all doodads (with minimap textures):

I explain down here the pack with a few images.
In the first image you can see that the player can see everything behind the gold door, but I want that this isn't possible and the section behind stay a secret.

The sorting is very easy too, just type "cg" in the search-box and you find all the doodads.

I solved the problem.
I moved Hammerfall out of the steam folder and because of this line in a new error massage: "ARPGGame.ActorBehaviors.MeleeActorBehavior...." I removed all characters on my map.
I deleted section for section of my level to find the broken character, it wasn't even a custom! "actors/guard_4.xml" was the problem.

I don't know exactly why everything work for now but I'm happy :)
All steps I've done: moved Hammerwatch out of steam
                               deleted the "actors/guard_4.xml" character on my map
                               work without custom doodads & characters

I finally know how to make custom stuff :D
Thats pretty easy :D ^-^
The crashes wasn't caused by the custom doodads.

I think thats a good idea, I watch Pewdiepie very often and I think he would love this game.
It's sad that this awesome game has a rather small community, I totally agree with you! This game needs a lot more attention!
I'm from Austria (the little state under Germany, (we speak German)). "Gronkh" is a quite big German Youtuber and he likes indie games too.

His video about the Hammerwatch Beta has about: 145.000+ views.

He hasn't played it since HW was released, but he liked it very much, I will send him a PM after the next patch, maybe he'll play it again.
Hammerwatch 2 in the far future, more campaigns or big patches would be extremely awesome, but this needs time and money from sales.

Hello Hammerwatch community.
I'm not entire sure why this problem appears.

I worked for over 12 hours on my level. (the level file was always in a completely different folder (documents) than Hammerwatch)
I worked on my desktop PC, i tried the last few days to add custom doodads and teleporters (and switching between levels).
For this I changed the location of my level file to the ...Steam\SteamApps\common\Hammerwatch\editor\example\levels folder.
I thought this is necessary that the level files work together with the "levels.xml" file. ATM I don't know exactly how the levels.xml file work.

The shortcut CTRL+T always worked perfectly but when the level file was in this location I couldn't test the level anymore (Failed to load level)
I never got an error message. I tried to write something in the levels.xml file but nothing helps.
Now I'm at a point where I can't load any of my levels, I don't know why, or what i have done.  (no error message)
So i decided to download an install the game on my laptop. I copied my main level to my laptop (not in the ...editor\example\levels folder)
but i couldn't test it too. (I never started Hammerwatch on my laptop before, it's completely new installed)
I also tried to test an empty level (only one LevelStart Script Object) but it also didn't work.

BUT !!! on my laptop I get error messages!

Error massage:

Sadly this error massage was originally in German, and i don't know how I should translate "Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt."
Something like: "The object-reference wasn't set to a object-instance" ??

I don't know what I should do...  :-\

I get a error Message on my desktop PC too but only if I try to test the level file in my documents folder, if i try to test the level file which is
