I can't remember my errors exactly, but it was something to do with my custom xml files being wrong, but i am 100% sure that they worked before the update, i am now in 1.2, and everything as returned as normal, and i also had never tried the beta before.

I don't think you can unpack a .hwm map file thingy. I know that it is possible, as some people have this tool to do so.

I was told that Hammerwatch wasn't tested on linux. My game works completely fine, but when it comes to the editor. . , oh dear.
I am not sure if it is my fault, i think i am doing everything right, as i know what i am doing.

So i load hammerwatch editor, with mono, it loads fine, and i can use it, when i run the map, while having all the correct xml's, it loads a black screen, and then it closes, and apparently it is open as a process, and on the side, but i can't open it. I gave my map folder to my friend, and he was able to open and run the map, so i don't think anything is wrong with the map, is there suppose to be another way to test the map?

I also don't think, anything custom works. I have successfully made custom music, and a couple of doodads, textures, mobs, which in in my levels folder. The editor doesn't load this as all, so i can't make anything that is custom. Again, i gave my folder to my friends, and all the custom stuff worked and loaded for him, so there must be something wrong with the linux version.

It will probably be hard to fix anything for linux, but please can you guys try, or help me?

I have given on on creating maps as a whole, because i can't do anything, so please fix it :DDD.

Are you writing videos to a USB stick at all? I usually get that weird lag when i record onto a usb, probably because it is writing onto something too slow, or a slow hardrive? I can record to my hard drive fine, but not a usb.

This is most probably ubuntu's fault. I had this issue before, when i used Ubuntu 13.10, and i had that weird delay, and lag, but then i installed new proprietary graphics drivers, which increased the fps like 20 frames, but it still wasn't good enough. Then i used Ubuntu 12.10 LTS, and i can play games like i did in windows, so try installing new proprietary graphics drivers, or downgrade to 12.10. To get these drivers, search "Additional Drivers" on the software centre.

That is very true, there are certainly not enough players also to test our maps, meaning we won't have anything to improve from. In my case, i have loads to improve, because my DOOM map sucks completely, but obviously i cant improve it, after losing my resources. Only if the Yogscast played the whole of Hammerwatch. . .That would publise it ALOT, and get lots of people to buy Hammerwatch. They played it before, which advertised it quite  alot, only if they did it again. It's a shame really.

It seems like the community is still quite inactive. Which i mean, not very many maps being released. I know the only reason i haven't released anything, was that i was forced to format my computer, while unable to back up any files, meaning i lost my almost finished map. The only map i have spotted that is in development is RavenWatch, and (i think) Requiem Of HammerWatch. It is nice when you have a wide range of maps to play, but i hope this new update will encourage more people to create maps. I have kinda given up losing all my work, but i hope to see more maps in the future.


What are your guys opinion on this?

Something similar to this has happened to me, except i was playing with my cousin, and i was a mage, and he was a ranger. We both just stayed dead in the checkpoint, and didn't re-spawn, even though we had lives to spare.

This also happens to me when i quit. My whole pc just crashes, but i use Windows 7. Also, i do not think it is the games fault, as i am having problems with my pc anyway, but i am not sure about you.

With the global event trigger, theres an option of boss killed, which when the boss is killed, it is activated. So you can connect it to some spawnobjects or whatever you need it to activate.
