Resources / Custom sprites...

I want to make some custom sprites of the player characters, and even after reading the topics on the forum I'm a bit confused by it. You should be able to simply replace the default pngs with new ones, right? Like a custom warlock_a.png would simply take the place of the thief in the main game? What is the grid size for the sprites, 16x16? The alignment seems strange to me...

Also I'm having trouble finding some player projectiles, like the thief's knives, which don't seem to be in the projectiles or effects folders.
