Technical Support / Can't change light in editor

Whenever I go to the light tab in the editor and change ambient to a lighter color, it has no effect on the background or tiles that I've placed or will place after changing the shading, also all the other light options don't change the actual background and tiles' color, the background stays pitch black and the tiles are bright red and they won't change.

Please help me I want to be able to use the editor  .
